Art Class Projects

Here are two projects that I use most often in my class, it is evident from the wear and tear of the paper

Some selected art projects

This is one of the simpler projects that got completed very quickly,
I also showed the students the real leaves that were used as the model for this project
I had promised to teach the Richie Rich cartoon at the end of the class

Learning from teaching Art

I am back with some interesting learning experiences with students, a few good art projects sketched by students and I am also sharing some sketches that were a part of the classes curriculum

Interesting observations

  • I discovered that initially giving projects that are closest to the student's abilities helps them to gain confidence and later they are willing to try projects that seem more difficult

Most students (even the ones who love art) are apprehensive about sketching and painting as they are not confident about their ability to create a good artwork

A little extra attention and step by step assistance at the beginning goes a long way in improving performance very quickly

Building a strong foundation of sketching before starting with paints can ensure drop-out and frustration for the students

Providing a carrot at the end of a session can help speed up the progress of the class, eg. if students are interested in cartoons then teaching them a cartoon sketch at the end of a session doubles up the progress of the class

Welcome Kids and Parents to the world of art!

This Blog is to display creativity shown by kids in the course of their art learning experience

Details of the Art Classes are as below for your reference

The classes are designed to get kids interested in art and to teach them basics of proportion and color. They learn to observe and develop their own sense of color and perspective

Drawing: Students learn how to draw by using recognizable shapes and lines to develop one-of-a-kind artwork. They discover new techniques as they develop their unique creations. The best artwork gets a place on the Art Class Blog www.kidsartclasses.blogspot.com
